Taichung City Funeral Administration originally named "The Taichung municipally established funeral parlor" is the subordinate institution of TaichungCity government. It legally handles management and maintenance of the municipally funeral and burial affairs and facilities. On July 1, 1969 the administrion was established on approval of the TaichungCity government office 37775th verbal command, and the related facilities was formally finished in November, 1969. Services ranges to Taichung, Zhanghua, Nantou counties etc.. It effectively promotions the funeral and burial quality of the those areas, saves the funeral expense and reduces the usage of public space, resulting in better traffic, cityscape and environmental sanitation. 

The management of public cemetery and coffin tower was incorporate into our administration on July 1, 1999. in the meantime established the cemetery affairs group which holds business including the cremation, cemetery and coffin tower management. Meanwhile the funeral parlor was renamed “Mortuary Services Office, Taichung City”. The goal of our administration is to providing high quality funeral service and facilities to our citizens with essences of esteem, caring and effectiveness and with principles of offering convenience to the people and incorruptibility, which providing citizens solemn funeral services. 

The attitude of our compatriots toward death has changed greatly, and because of the government places importance on it, the funeral service becomes one of the key items of government administration. As time goes by, the population continue to grow with speed, and people laid more emphasis on the environment protection issues. The oversimplified facilities do not meet the masses’s needs. We addresses reformation solutions to plan the development of all aspects of funeral services and facilities which will lead the funeral service development to variety, more environment protection considered and enterprise-oriented.
